Image quality:

PIR Fresnel lens

ZEISS SecaTrack
Increase your chances of finding a stolen camera

ZEISS SecaTrack is a service that allows users to locate their stolen camera if it has been removed from its installation location. This service is available for the Secacam 3, 5, and 7 after a corresponding firmware update.
The service must first be activated in the app.
When the camera is then turned off, it sends its GPS position to the ZEISS Secacam app every 10 minutes. The camera also takes a photo each time the location is sent.
This allows the user to track the position of the camera and identify the potential thief.
The feature is available in all three subscription plans.

Compared to the Secacam 5 for example:

Both cameras have a lens with a 60° field of view, but the combination of lens and
sensor size, the Secacam 3 has a 9% wider horizontal field of view, but a narrower vertical field of view. This makes
the hunter to cover a larger area in the horizontal plane, giving them the ability to observe a larger area
which increases the chance of taking extra play.

Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates

Always the latest firmware and features

OTA is a feature that allows the user to update the firmware without having to download it to an SD card first.

When the camera is turned on, it checks the backend for new firmware. If so, the firmware files are downloaded.
-After downloading, the user can initiate the firmware update by going to the menu and selecting “Firmware Update”.
-Advantage: The user doesn't have to worry about which FW version is the latest and always has access to the latest features (e.g. live streaming) as soon as they are available.
-In a future version of the app, the user will also be able to initiate the firmware update via the app

New resolutions for images on SD card
The ZEISS Secacam 3 offers four different resolutions:
-5 megapixels (3072 x 1728)
-8 megapixels (3840 x 2112)
-12 megapixels (4800 x 2560)
-24 megapixels (6400 x 3600)
Although the ZEISS Secacam 3's image sensor is only 3 MP, the minimum image resolution on the SD card is 5 MP. This simplifies synchronization with the backend and the app.
For most users, the resolution of the images on the SD card is not relevant, as the images sent have a maximum resolution of 2 MP (Full HD).
Competitors boasting resolutions >24 MP offer no real added value to the customer

Integrated memory

Improved, immediate status information
The ZEISS Secacam app offers three status indicators that show the remaining storage space on the SD card/internal memory, the reception quality, and the battery status. In the past, these indicators may not have been 100% accurate, as the "daily report" was only sent every 24 hours, and the system only marks the camera as offline if it hasn't received a signal from the camera within 48 hours.
The new ZEISS Secacam 3 solves this problem by sending a status report every time you turn the camera on or off, or when the battery is low and the camera switches off due to low voltage.
Advantages: The user always knows exactly what the status of his camera is and can respond accordingly.

Control photos
In many countries, hunters are legally required to check their traps at certain intervals (for example, every 12 hours in Germany). The photo-check function allows hunters to comply with the law without having to physically visit the traps to check if they are empty or full.
The photo control allows you to set two specific times within a 24-hour interval at which the Secacam takes a photo and sends it to the ZEISS Secacam app.
For this reason, the Danish Ministry of the Environment, for example, recommends the use of our cameras, as they meet the requirements of the legal regulations.
