Rovex Thermal Camera with 5-inch LCD and AI Tracking

The Nocpix Rovex is a lightweight handheld thermal camera for birdwatchers, nature observers and wildlife enthusiasts. With its large 5-inch touchscreen, wide thermal field of view and AI-assisted tracking, the Rovex helps users discover birds and animals more easily in challenging observation conditions.

The Rovex is designed as a search aid, not as a replacement for binoculars, spotting scopes or cameras. When low light, dense vegetation, poor weather or a complex background make animals difficult to see, the Rovex shows where to look. Once a bird or animal has been located, users can switch to their regular optics for closer observation, identification or photography.

Its open-screen design changes the way thermal imaging can be used in the field. Instead of constantly looking through an eyepiece, users can scan through the large LCD screen while remaining aware of their surroundings. The large display is also glasses-friendly and allows several people to view the same thermal image at the same time.

The Rovex features a 5-inch 1280×720 touchscreen and a 17.5°×13.1° field of view. This allows users to scan a larger area with each movement. It is especially useful around woodland edges, reed beds, grass, bushes and other dense vegetation where birds or warm-blooded animals may be present but difficult to spot visually.

For thermal imaging, the Nocpix Rovex uses a 384×288 sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch, NETD ≤25 mK and a fast 15 mm F0.8 lens. This combination provides a wide view and reliable detection of heat sources in natural environments. According to the provided information, the Rovex can detect something as small as a squirrel or great spotted woodpecker at up to approximately 90 metres.

The Rovex includes AI Smart Tracking. This function analyses the thermal image and marks potential birds with coloured frames. A red frame indicates a high-probability target above 70%. The AI function supports searching, but is not intended for species identification.

To support different outdoor conditions, the Rovex offers Standard, Birding and Rain & Fog display modes. Standard balances the thermal scene for everyday nature observation. Birding highlights potential birds and suppresses cooler background noise. Rain & Fog is designed for poor weather and high humidity.

Image quality is further supported by Nocpix Nature R+ Super-Resolution, Smart Image Denoising and Smart Target Highlighting. These technologies reveal more thermal detail, reduce distracting background noise and make heat sources easier to distinguish in complex natural environments.

The Rovex is built for practical field use. It weighs less than 290 g without battery and measures 135×70×182 mm. The device has a metal frame with rubber grip, IP66 protection against water and dust, and drop resistance up to 1 metre. A protective lens cap protects the lens when not in use.

Power is supplied by a replaceable 21700 Li-ion battery, providing up to 4 hours of continuous use. Photos and videos are stored on the 64 GB internal memory. The smartphone app enables real-time viewing, remote control, wireless file transfer, sharing and firmware updates.
